The second edition of the famous Tournament of Retribution has come to an end, the votes have been counted and the winners have been announced! We have seen epic battles, cruelty but above all we have seen a lot of fun! The Tournament of Retribution II has written history with such spectacular prizes! A big thanks goes out to Commodore Hornbricker for organising and donating to the Tournament of Retribution II!
The Brickworld event is coming up! And of course it includes pirate displays! The event starts on Thursday, June 17. And it ends on Sunday, June 20. The event is held in the Westin Hotel in Wheeling, Illinois. Just like the previous years. And of course you can display your own Pirate MOC! You have to signup, and register your MOC. All that can be done here.
A big thank you goes out to all the participants for there awesome entries. You guys had some pretty amazing MOC's!
I would also like to thank the following members for helping me out in some very important ways! Commodore Hornbricker, Captain Blackmoor, Captain Zuloo, Erdbeeries, SlyOwl and Zorro.
2010 presents the inaugural Canberra Brick Expo, one of two LEGO® fan events in Australia. For Aussie AFOLs, this is brilliant news! With people coming from all around the country for the event and licenced vendors specialising in rare and discontinued sets on-site, the 2010 Brick Expo is shaping up brilliantly!
The committee is currently accepting exhibitor and vendor applications for 2010. If you are interested in applying, or you just want more details, please visit the official website.
Classic-Pirates.com LEGO® Ambassador, Bonaparte, was fortunate enough to attend LEGO World 2009. Whilst there, he saw a huge Pirate layout with ships and islands, outposts and fortresses, and he was kind enough to share some photos of this spectacular layout in out forum!
The Great Western LEGO® show is the largest LEGO show in the UK. It is held at the Museum of the Great Western Railway in Swindon on 3rd and 4th October 2009. It features a wide variety of displays from Pirates, Cars and Space through to Technic and Trains. There will also be building workshops where the public can get involved with the expert builders to help create a 100,000 brick mosaic. Visit the LEGO Shop and other independent LEGO traders for great deals on some exclusive LEGO sets not available on the high street.
We will have a Classic-Pirates.com Crew member at this event and hope to bring back some very cool coverage of the fun!
A week ago, Classic-Pirates.com members YnyklY and Cap'n Blackmoor were lucky enough to find themselves on the decks of the Amsterdam, the replica of the VOC ship by the same name. An amazing experience for them, Blackmoor was kind enough to share some of the photos he took of the adventure in the Pirates forum.
Missed the Pirate action at Brickworld 2009? Well now you can go and view some of the great snaps LEGO® fans took at the event. Many AFOL's attended brought their Pirate set ups with them to show off and display.
Veteran ship MOCer Kurt Baty, better known as Republic of Texas Navy LEGO Naval Architect, took his fleet (and numerous other MOCs) to Brickworld last month, and the display sure is a sight to behold! Furthermore, the RTS Zavala was nominated for, and won, the prestigious Brickworld 2009 Best Sea Craft Award.
Be sure to congratulate Kurt on his Brickworld display in the Pirate forum, or find more out about his ships here
More photos from Brickworld have been dug up, and some of them are quite impressive. This time, Bluesecrets presents us with her tavern, d'Blue-n Lagoon Saloon. With a nice little cove and docking spaces for your ships, it seems some vikings have heard of this place too...
