Eurobrick's 4th LDD RCB PIRATES!

Thar be teamwork!

Fifteen builders from around the world built this great LDD fort through a months-long relay. Each participant was allowed to place up to 300 pieces and never move someone else's work. Amazingly in the end it all came together to form a cohesive build with lots of great details and some really fun easter eggs.

HMS Beagle by Chris Melby

HMS Beagle

The ship that circumnavigated the globe between 1831 and 1836.

The famous ship on which a young Charles Darwin became inspired for his theory of evolution, has now been made in LDD! As far as I know it's the best LEGO model of this ship so far. Especially the deck details can be very inspirational for other ships. And of course it's nice to have a small virtual tour on this vessel.

4 new MLCAD Ship WIPs by Eddy Redbeart

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

It's only a WIP, but already a very good-looking ship.

Except for the fact that you have (almost) all the bricks, working with MLCad and LDD is usually more difficult than building with real bricks. Therefore it's always impressive to see some good ship MOC's made with one of those programs. Eddy Redbeart has made 4 stunning ships with great colourschemes and a perfect shape. From a small pirate galleon to an Imperial flagship, he's made some good stuff for everyone.

A brand new LDD MOC!

A new ship is setting sail! It's HMS Lively, one of Jack Aubreys ships in the Aubrey/Maturin series. Kurigan did a great job on this LDD MOC. The shape is perfect and it also has some nice details like a very inventive capstan design. This ship may be very helpful to all shipMOC'ers. Furthermore Kurigan has also made a lot of other ships, all looking excellent.

Dutch Fluyt by Captain Cavinano in the Pirate forum.

Tumblehome effect in CAD? You've got to be joking! But no, Captain Cavinano has done just that with his model of a Dutch Fluyt. This 3-masted ship built entriely digital brick with no pre-fab hulls is quite stunning in its shape, design and colour scheme. And, it has great custom cannons!

Rush over to the Pirate forum and discuss Captain Cavinano's Dutch Fluyt!

LDD Imperial Fort Isle by Joey Lock

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

LEGO® Digital Designer has many uses, so it goes without saying that a great LDD pirate MOC rakes up a fuss. So prepare to be fussing pirate fans, because Joey Lock has something HUGE in store for us!

Here Joey demonstrates that LDD can be taken seriously as a tool for designing awesome fortresses. What lies before us spans three unique structures, all maintaining that classic piratical atmosphere, further aided by coastal details built into the foreground. This fort would definitely make a fine addition to anyone's collection, but - of course - there is the price tag...

Discuss it - now!
