Captain Pete never backed away from a challenge!
Captain Pete never backed away from a challenge
...but admittedly had thought that "Fish Monster Bay" was just another one of those over-dramatisations he'd come to expect from 16th Century maps!

Schooner Geisha by Wes

Monday, January 19th, 2009

Geisha was originally designed by Wes for use in Evil Stevie's Pirate Game (a class 3 ship), but this beautiful MOC is now (re)presented on the Classic Pirates forum!

Click to discuss Geisha in the Classic Pirates forum.

A Schooner-Class ship.

Wes: Geisha's name was inspired by Arthur Golden's Memoirs of a Geisha, a book I own that was made into a movie. It also relates to the white color of the ship's hull (think white facepaint).

No one pays attention to signs anyway... right?

This clever vignette by Crimson Wolf is packed with all sorts of details, including blue rubber bands around the tentacles and the pirate's little accident when he encounters the sea monster...

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

I Scream Clone gives us an updated version of the classic Eldorado Fortress set with his "My Eldorado Fortress" MOC. The newer building techniques such as SNOT, and more recent colors like tan and dark bley give it a modern touch while still retaining the classic feel and design of the old version.

The Black Maiden by Crimson Wolf

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Crimson Wolf presents the wonderful Black Maiden, a small, SNOT vessel employed by the highest bidder, whose crew is almost entirely composed of crippled misfits. Due to this, watching them attempt a pillaging would be quite a sight!

A Small Privateer Vessel in the employ of the highest bidder.

It'd be intriguing to see how they'd raid a village...
