For Dr.Lucky, big just ain't big enough!

Dr. Lucky: ''I built my Brickbeard's Bounty the other day, and it was cool, but not big enough.
When I was a kid, I remember just how huge the Black Seas Barracuda seemed, and I really wanted that experience again.
Of course, a lot of time has passed since then. I've grown up, and that memory has had 19 years to expand.
I need to make Brickbeard's Bounty much bigger!''

The Empress MOC by Paul cantu

Friday, February 6th, 2009

After the Governor had completed taking over the island, enslaving the locals and generally causing a mess and havoc, he stole from the islanders riches deep within their fragile mines. After stealing millions worth of gold and treasure, what better to do than build a new ship and cover it with the new riches.

What better to do than build a new ship and cover it with the new riches!

Paul cantu's recent ship 'The Empress' has been created using a modular design and features a clever background story, cabins with detailed interior and gold plating!

A mighty vessel indeed!

This 6 cannon strong Imperial Patrol Ship has everything to track down and destroy the Imperial's enemies. Other than her firepower she is fast as the devil because of her large sails and a loyal crew of 10 men (2 officers + 8 sailors/soldiers) who will take care of any threat, Pirate attacks included!

Its an Imperial lightening rod!

It's an Imperial lightening rod!

. . . But it should obviously fall under the "Floating Rock of Magnificence" category instead.

The Wreck of the Hesperus by NewRight

"WRECK OF THE HESPERUS"
It was the schooner Hesperus,
That sailed the wintery sea;
And the skipper had taken his little daughter,
To bear him company...

...At daybreak, on the bleak sea-beach,
A fisherman stood aghast,
To see the form of a maiden fair,
Lashed close to a drifting mast.

The salt sea was frozen on her breast,
The salt tears in her eyes;
And he saw her hair, like the brown sea-weed,
On the billows fall and rise.

Such was the wreck of the Hesperus,
In the midnight and the snow!
Christ save us all from a death like this,
On the reef of Norman's Woe!

The Black Pearl by Brian Heins

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Bonaparte has found pictures of this magnificent Lego pirate battleship in the Flickr gallery of a user called funkg177. After some investigation it seems to be the Black pearl, build by Brian Heins who also was the provider of the Pirates sets in the exhibition in Taiwan where these pictures were taken!

Even the BSB looks tiny compared to this giant...Brian stopped counting bricks at 150,000, and the ship was recently valued at an amazing 15,000 USD !

Schooner Geisha by Wes

Monday, January 19th, 2009

Geisha was originally designed by Wes for use in Evil Stevie's Pirate Game (a class 3 ship), but this beautiful MOC is now (re)presented on the Classic Pirates forum!

A Schooner-Class ship.

Wes: Geisha's name was inspired by Arthur Golden's Memoirs of a Geisha, a book I own that was made into a movie. It also relates to the white color of the ship's hull (think white facepaint).
