Frequently Asked Questions
Is Classic-Pirates.com an official LEGO website?
No. Classic-Pirates.com is a LEGO fansite voluntarily created and maintained by AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO).
Why is the Pirate Forum hosted at Eurobricks instead of Classic-Pirates.com?
Originally the pirate threads were housed in the Eurobricks History & Adventure Forum. Over time the number of pirate threads far superseded the number of threads from the all the other History & Adventure themes combined. This warranted the creation of the Pirate LEGO Forum in July 2006. In April 2007 Classic-Pirates.com was launched to allow better access to the content of the Pirate Forum and provide offer an online resource for Pirate LEGO fans.
Will the Pirate Forum ever be hosted on Classic-Pirates.com?
This is a possibility which has been discussed several times amongst the Eurobricks Administration. Unfortunately it's not as simple as transferring the forum from Eurobricks to Classic-Pirates.com as you would transfer say a PDF file from one website to another. Fortunately methods of making this transition are being looked into for the future.
Why not just create a brand new forum on Classic-Pirate.com?
This is another possibility however there are a few drawbacks. The greatest limitation is time. It can take years to establish a successful forum and at present the administration at Classic-Pirates.com doesn't have enough time to create a brand new forum. The other drawback is there would be two Pirate LEGO forums and unfortunately there aren't enough Pirate LEGO fans to have two competing forums.
