Port Callao Invasion
Eurobricks newcomer El_Pirotecnico has made a memorable first impression with this diorama, which he built for an expo in his native Peru. Featuring a mix of MOCs and official sets, old and new, the result is a very busy scene with tons of hidden details.

British Bomb Vessels
Captain Braunsfeld created these excellent little bomb ships. They have a old school LEGO Pirates look to them. They would fit in nice with classic sets, like Eldorado Fortress or Sabre Island.

It's made of LEGO though based off the skills and planning of a model ship builder. The 1577 warship model was created by Mayday artist and is in minifig scale with more detailing and intricate rigging than anything I've seen. Check out the forum post to see a myriad of high res detail shots of this wonderful ship.

It's been almost 20 years since LEGO gave us some non-licensed islander minifigs. The new figure from Collectible Minifigures Series 11 is a great addition to your island family. The new mask is painted with bright colors that go well with the new print on the torso and legs, as well as a new face print including a tribal tattoo.

Studdles knows how to make some nice sails!
Sometimes official LEGO sails can be too pricey for your planned Pirate Ship. Often the most popular alternative is making your own custom sails. Studdles has published a guide to not only making custom sails, but reproducing original LEGO ones!
