Relaxing at Home: Pirate Style

This stunning island scene by I Scream Clone has a wonderful lagoon with some pirates enjoying the sun as well as islanders in the foliage gathering food. One of the best parts of the build is the the viewing platform on the tree and the ramshackle little hut. The forum has many close up photos of all the great details of this huge build.

The First Capture and Attempted Deportation of Captain Jim

Invicta Bricks has remade the classic pirate set 1592 Town Square with modern styling and flesh color figs. The build is extremely detailed and very sharp and clean. It does a great job of being recognizable as the classic pirate set while adding the great detailing and colors that we have come to expect from modern sets.

Not so rickety fort.

Not so rickety fort.

Courtesy of the_real_punch, here is very nice upgrade to the classic pirate set 6267 Lagoon Lock-Up. As well as finishing and strengthening the fort with more modern build techniques, the addition of a snot base gives a clean look to the build. There are just enough details in the surroundings to tie the whole scene together and not complicate it.

Land Ahoy!

Sebeus I brings us this simple, clean pirate sloop. Built with a prefab hull and custom sails, the simplicity of this ship is charming. All the action and adventure of treasure awaits these two pirates!

It's Quite a Party!

Purpearljellyblob brings us this wonderfully funny comic. It's a Redcoat birthday party and you won't want to miss all the excitement in store for the guest of honor. Of course, there were some Bluecoats harmed in the making of this comic, but that's fine...right?

Birds and Wigs and Bluecoats, oh my.

Birds and Wigs and Bluecoats, oh my.

LEGO Collectable Minifigure Series has once again given us some amazing new figures for use in he Pirate Theme. A new captain, Bluecoat redesign, and islander should be finding their way into our MOCs soon. For me, however, the most exciting parts are the seagull and the powder wig.
