Pirate on an Arch

A pirate resting on an arch.

The LEGO Pirates theme sometimes lends itself to vignettes better than others, and this is a great example of such a scene. Fellow user Haplo tells that he came across an image of a pirate resting on an arch online when he was searching for some inspiration and ideas. The image is in fact a small scene taken from the famous Disneyland attraction known as Pirates of The Caribbean. The pirate resting on the arch, the parrot, and the other various details around the scene make this vignette a small treasure.

Crossing The Alps

Napoleon's troops crossing the Alps.

Small pirate vignettes are always effective ways of telling a short story or tale through LEGO bricks, and michaelozzie manages to effectively tell one through his amazing scene of Napoleon's troops crossing through the Alps. The lighting and composition used in this shot is stunning and is intended to be reminiscent of Keith Rocco's famous paintings of Napoleon's campaign.

LEGO Pirate Fate of Bullet MOC Diidy

So THAT's were I left it!! It's always in the last place you look!

Yesterday we saw Diidy's conquistadors launch a cannonball, but where did that "bullet" land?  Once again, the details are so spot on, you might miss them if you aren't looking carefully.  Did you notice the flaming palm tree, the transition from sand to stone, the awesome dwelling with the cannon ball lodged inside, and the great minifigures?  Get a few more great shots of this MOC by visiting the forum now!

LEGO Pirate Sound of War MOC Diidy

Ready... Aim... FIRE!!!

It's all about the details.  Eurobricks member Diidy brings a nice little vignette that has such great, natural details you might not even notice them all.  Don't miss the dark tan "ruts" behind the cannon, the tires used for the cannon barrel,  the bird hiding in the bushes and the great greenery.  If only we knew were that cannon ball landed...

The Sea Sleigh Of Captain Claus, a Pirate LEGO MOC by Azaghal Gabilzaramul

That's a lot of gifts!

Our friend SirSven7 has found this funny little MOC on Flickr, so let's take a look at it. Granted that Christmas is long gone, but we can pretend for a while that it's back. It was built by Azaghal Gabilzaramul, who also informs us that: "Legend has it that this shark-driven dinghy sails seas the world over in search of treasure, but - the captain and crew will gladly share the loot with those they deem worthy".

Barbossa, Blackbeard, and of course Captain Jack

Flickr member The Incinerator14 brings us a great Vignette of Blackbeard boarding Barbossa's ship. Like usual Jack is somehow avoiding conflict but probably still winning. Will Barbossa get his revenge?

She's lonely, but collects heads for company

Zeya brings us a MOC of a mermaid on her perch.  The collection of heads and skulls tells me that she isn't always alone. Be sure to visit the forum to comment on this great MOC and other Pirates of the Caribbean related MOC's
