LEGO Pirate CUUSOO Flying Dutchman Sebeus Iniwum

Can WE taste the triple guns?

LEGO has released a version of the Black Pearl and the Queen Anne's Revenge but no Flying Dutchman.  With LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean™ seemingly on its way out, it appears we may never get a Flying Dutchman and there is nothing we can do about that.  Or is there?  Not long ago Eurobricks' member Sebeus Iniwum showed off his version of the Flying Dutchman and now his project is on CUUSOO.  If you have not heard about CUUSOO, it is a site where LEGO fans can post their ideas.  If an idea gets 10,000 supporters it will be reviewed by LEGO for a chance to become an official LEGO product!  If you want a Flying Dutchman, support his project on CUUSOO.

Go vote on CUUSOO and be sure to discuss the Flying Dutchman or the status of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean in the forum now.

Lego Pirate Sailing Ships Tutorial Horry

Reference nerd nirvana!

Have you ever wanted to build a frigate or a man-of-war but just didn't know where to start?  Eurobricks' tutorial master Horry has your back.  Horry's tutorial starts by giving some good guidelines on proper dimension and design for a sailing vessel, and then gets into deeper thought on things like how to rig gunports, rudders and davits or where to place a ship's stairs or capstans.  If you have been afraid to take the plunge into ship MOCing before, take a look at Horry's tutorial and proceed with confidence!

Is this ship worth 99 souls?

LEGO delivered the Black Pearl and the Queen Anne's Revenge,  but Eurobricks MOC Expert Sebeus Iniwum delivered "the goods" with his rendition of the Flying Dutchman.  Where to begin with this beauty?  The size?  The great coloration?  The details like the stern decorations, the Kracken's capstan or Davy Jones's Organ?  The bow with the triple guns?  The great shape of the brick-built hull?  Just click the link and look at them all!

LEGO Pirate Castaway Island MOC Flare

Wilson... WILSON!!

Eurobricks member Flare dazzles us with this incredibly detailed creation of a castaway's island built for MOCpages' MocAthalon.  There are so many details to check out, it is hard to know where to begin.  There are the rocks with evidence of the ship wreck, the brick built banana tree, the treasure cave, the stored supplies the castaway must have been able to salvage, the S.O.S on the beach, the islander's idol, the remains of other castaways who weren't as luck, and even a hidden interloper in a barrel!

Signal your S.O.S then discuss Castaway Island in the forum.

Junk Ship by SI-mocs

Sunday, March 18th, 2012

See what SI-mocs has in his trunk.

One man's junk is another man's treasure.

Not all pirates live in the Caribbean, and your Eurobricks wiz (and proud Canadian) SI-mocs shows off this junk ship.  SI-mocs says he really wanted to try a brick-built hull for this build, and his efforts really paid off.  The roof on the ship's cabin and the well placed gold accents are also highlights.  Head to the forum and find out if what the ladies say about SI-mocs is true, that he has junk in his trunk!

Black Pearl by Benjamin Kobold

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

"You've seen a ship with black sails that's crewed by the damned, and captained by a man so evil that Hell itself spat him back out?"

Our newest news scout has found a great version of the infamous Black Pearl made by MOC Pages member Benjamin Kobold.  A few well placed splashes of color keep this ship from looking like a black blob and if you dig deeper into the pictures, there are many fine details to find.  Head to the forum for more pictures and then discuss your favorite part, whether it be the custom rigging, the figure head, the cabin, the anchors, the brick built hull, the sails, the lanterns the ship's wheel...

Find all the cursed Aztec gold, then discuss Black Pearl in the forum.
