Out of the inky black night sails the terrifying, primal Troglodyte, the latest creation from Eurobricks member Dunkleosteus.  Built entirely in LDD, the Troglodyte comes complete with three masts, 14 guns, and two massive, LotR-inspired tusks on the prow! Keel-hauling just got a lot scarier!

“The HMS Lily” by HELLOEARTHLING

HELLOEARTHLING has shared his MOC of the Armada Flagship, outfitted to sleep a crew of double the original! It’s a tight squeeze inside for the 6 crewmen, but it holds a very diverse and interesting group of seamen. There is some clever decoration inside the ship, and a truly unique figurehead, I can’t say that I’ve ever seen one like it before!

More detail pics are available on Flickr. Also a bit more history on the HMS Challenger, which I think was super cool.

I should make a proper warship next!

An intrepid explorer crawled their way through the forgotten, dark and dusty tunnels beneath the LEGO Pirates Forum.  There, in the light of a flickering torch he accidentally bumps an OLDER TOPIC!  Expecting the entire tunnel to collapse upon him, much to his surprise, he realises he’s unearthed a long lost Aztec-themed MOC! I don’t know about you but I’m a sucker for anything Mesoamerican.  Eurobricks member and BrickWarriors founder, Thrash created this excellent scene depicting ritual human sacrifice complete with custom torsos and weapons.  If you’re into that (come on, who isn’t?), this is a MOC you’ll want to check out!

Take a moment to stop by the Pirate MOC Forum and send your regards to chap laying on the alter of the Aztec Sacrifice – but be quick! He doesn’t have long to live!

Thrash Writes:

Ever since I got my hands on some of the new BrickForge tribal swords and spears, I’ve been wanted to build some Aztecs. I had some free time to build recently, so this was the result: Aztec Sacrifice!

The Story

The Aztec Priest slices into the first sacrifice and begins tearing his heart out. Meanwhile, three more victims nervously wait, knowing their fate will soon be sealed. Watching from above, a captured Spaniard sits in a cage wondering what will become of him. He feels momentary relief when a couple of his loyal friends arrive to launch a rescue attempt… but unfortunately an Aztec Warrior has crept up behind them…

After each sacrifice, the bodies are discard into the bloody pit below, until eventually, the bones accumulate and spill out into the little pool to the side. A truly macabre sight!

Design NEW LEGO Pirates Sub-theme - Vote for the Sub-Theme

We’ve collated our sub-theme suggestions so here are some quick teasers of the poll options…

The West Brick Trading Company
The Merchants of the West Brick Trading Company hail from the bustling Port van Brickhaven which boasts more trade than the Imperial Trading Post…  But the Merchants must be on guard or the LEGO Pirates will plunder their heavily laden Cargo Fluyts to restock their parrot’s cracker supply!

Quest for the Lost City
Enchanted by tales of a lost city built entirely from gold the Imperial Armada launches an expedition. Lead by their most honoured hero, Fernando Plume they venture deep into the jungle.  Slight problem…  he only has half a map!

The Settlers
The Settlers have travlled half way across the globe to make their new home, led by the pioneer John Halfsquat who tames the land with his trusty hatchet.

The Treasure Fleet
The Imperial Armada have been stuffing their galleons full of treasure to send back to the old country.  Capitano Juan de Verde has mercilessly pillaged the Islanders of all their trinkets to impress his new king… and to ensure a large retirement fund!

But they’re just the teasers…  Further details of each sub-theme awaits you…  You may be surprised…
