Eurobricks user Keymonus shared this great little beach scene as part of a collaborative story about the events unfolding in the settlement of Charlatan Bay.  Charlatan Bay is a Sea Rat port in the Bretheren of the Brick Seas subforum.

The backstory

Tristan Rimbaud was sitting in an anonymous room of the Salty Shipworks, the shipbuilding facility that his friend Gustav had chosen as temporary headquarters of their “army”. He looked again at one of the maps, scribbling a few notes about the areas still controlled by the enemies. He emptied his glass of wine, one of the few commodities provided by the Oleonese ships that, now and then, connected the island with the outer world. How easier would have been to solve everything with a pitched battle, where the disciplined lines of his bluecoat would have easily routed the rebels.

The campaign, during the first weeks, was surprisingly smooth: the well trained Oleonese volunteers took by surprise the garrison of the hidden battery, opening a safe channel for supplies, far enough from Fort Saint Millar and its cannons.

On the same day, the first cargo was unloaded in a secondary landing point: a small task force of soldiers secured the beach, while the local militia took control of the main street… better keeping soldiers and pirates a couple of miles apart.

One after the other, the rowboats reached the shallow water, where, months after the volcanic eruption, pumices stones still floated. That day, Tristan received also a letter from the Royal Court: His Blessed Majesty appointed Tristan the Count of Astrapi, a honorary title rather than a real rule over a territory, but still a ladder towards the highest ranks of society. The Defender of Fatu Hiva, as the Court defined him in the letter, could now look in the eyes, as peers, the bloated noblemen who once made fun of the Rimbauds, ancient as Oleon itself but not very rich or powerful.

That first cargo, delivered at the cost of enormous risks, represented the best hope of success for Tristan and his allies: food for the soldiers and the civilians, seeds and agricultural tools… but also the musket he needed to transform the local militia, well-meaning but disorganized, in an effective fighting force.

A few days after the departure of the Phènix another ship, curiously called Valiant Phoenix, landed in the same point: the passengers, disciples of a weird but pacific cult, organized a field hospital, a fundamental help for the starting campaign.

This had happened almost a year before, but Tristan remembered those days very well: with the main road secured and the supplies for the town, he and his friend were ready for their triumphal entry in Hightown… that was a great day, a day to be remembered, but they all knew that it was just the beginning of the long road towards peace and order.

Back in the June of 1719… Ummm… June 2019,  ZedKay shared a remarkable build of the Flying Dutchman from the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.

Comprised of 2,535 pieces, this ship is packed full of exciting details and play features! It  is even drawing close to the 1000 supporters milestone almost reached 4,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas but unfortunately the project is now “Archived”.

I present you the Flying Dutchman, the infamous ghost ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, in LEGO!

The idea came to me a year ago, while I was sitting at my desk when I cast me eyes upon the 3 official LEGO POTC ships on the top of my shelf: The Black Pearl, The Queen Anne’s Revenge, and The Silent Mary. For years I had been waiting for LEGO to release a Flying Dutchman, but to no avail it never came out. Determined to build the ship myself, I embarked on an exciting, challenging but rewarding journey to produce a MOC which would take up its rightful place among my fleet and make it complete.

• 9 minigs: Davy Jones, Maccus, Hadras, Bootstrap Bill, Koleniko, Jimmy Legs, Penrod, Clanker and Crash with custom designs
• The Kraken capstan hammer
• Two decks with cannons

• Removable poop deck to reveal the captain’s cabin with the pipe organ

Overview

ZedKay designed this model from scratch using LDD which took approximately one year from the time he saw a few concepts online which piqued his inspiration. He’d fallen in love with the Flying Dutchman from the Pirates of the Caribbean films, and it dawned upon the LEGO Group had never officially released it along side the Black Pearl, Queen Anne’s Revenge and Silent Mary. Determined to build the ship himself, he embarked on an exciting journey ,yet rewarding challenge to produce a model truly worthy of the LEGO Pirate lines. This Flying Dutchman would make a fantastic set for all LEGO Pirates fans who have dreamed of owning it as an official LEGO set, and desired to incorporate it into their own fleet.

This is my first entry for the Oaken Shield task “Sloops for the Royal Navy” of the Guild of Corrington challenge.

The Ymir is the first warship leaving the Farrensman Shipyard. His long time experience and success with ship designs in general lately brought him the attention of the admiralty, which is always looking for ways to strengthen their fleet. For Jorin Farrensman thus the opportunity was created to gain insight in a slightly new field of work.

She was built to protect trading convoys, her sleek lines provide great manoeuvrability and mobility to reach any point of the convoy rapidly.
Her specialised targets are corsairs. Next to escort duty, she surely could go on the hunt for smugglers.
Though her armament of seven carronades each broadside plus two more astern were not meant for greater naval battles or situations, in which two ships fire at each other from a certain distance to damage rig and hull. But as a vessel, that comes in for the rescue, any Corrish or Altonian ship will be relieved to know of her support. From a short range her carronades will send their most devastating rain of iron chalazions and decimate the opponent crews.

Recently fellow Eurobricker Ayrlego shared his latest build in the settlement of Port Woodhouse, as part of the Bretheren of the Brick Seas game in the Pirate Forums

These offices in Port Woodhouse are one example of where Colonial Officers and bureaucrats can ensure that Corrish colonies in the East Prio Sea are properly supplied and administered. Maintaining an empire requires meticulous organisation and planning; something Colanders are renowned for!

Port Woodhouse is situated on Garma’s Key, an island located in the Garma Strait separating Cascadia and Celestia. Growth in the settlement has been slow; commercial settlements such as nearby Jameston and Mesabi Landing far eclipse the somewhat sleepy outpost. Despite this; Port Woodhouse has long been earmarked as the administrative hub for Corlander colonisation in the East Prio Sea. New work in Port Woodhouse is being carried out to make this a reality. Earlier this year, the completion of large fortifications was the first major expansion. Now, new buildings are being constructed to house an expanded military and bureaucratic presence.

Here Colonial Governor Colonel Sir Dirk Allcock and Brigadier Sir Andrew Howe conduct an inspection of the guard before touring one of the latest administrative buildings to have been completed. These offices are manned by Army staff charged with ensuring that the Corlander military garrisons in the Paradise Isles are properly supplied and equipped to defend Her Majesty’s holdings.

Hi everyone! I’m finally back and building for BoBS again. As some of you will be aware I’ve been back a few weeks now but I’ve been having a castle building phase (which isn’t over just yet!). Unfortunately I have been quite unwell and this has affected my ability to spend any amount of time in front of a computer screen, so I am still a bit behind catching up on my six months away. Luckily it hasn’t effected my building and things are slowly returning to normal(ish) now. Anyway here is my first BoBS build; Dirk will be doing some planning of his own and you should see some renewed vigour in Corlander development and administration in the area of his Governorship coming soon!

PS. If anyone has any tips for shooting (or editing) photos of white Lego on a white background, I’d be very interested to hear them as I really struggle… as you can see! 🙂

Eurobricks member Pantelis shared a first Pirate Creation recently.  He states that he normally does historic MOC’s but wanted to try something with Pirates.  We sure are glad he did as it is a great interpretation on the classic Pirates sets!
