Lots of treasure! Could it be any better for a pirate?
The first sets of the upcoming LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean line are getting in the stores and the first reviews are slowly getting on our forums. One of the first of them is a review of Isla de Muerta by Eurobricks member WhiteFang. This set has some very good points. Especially the new parts like compasses and sword holders are very appealing. It also has some less good points though. But according to most of our members, the set is well worth it. What do you think?

Read about sets released in 1992-1993...

...as well as those released in 1994-1995!
Not so long ago, Classic-Pirates.com member SirSven7 has prepared a comprehensive review of all Pirate sets released between 1989 and 1991. Now two more parts of his review are ready - the second part takes a look at 1992-1993 sets (enter Redcoats), and the third part is all about 1994-1995 sets (enter Islanders). This is indeed a valuable history lesson as far as LEGO Pirates is concerned, so don't hesitate to take a good look at those reviews!

Containing lots of new torso's, heads, parts, and other great things!
Although the new Pirates of the Caribbean LEGO sets are not officialy in the stores yet (release date: April 2011), some people have already managed to get a few of them. Eurobricks member VerSen is one of them. And he's made an excellent review of Whitecap Bay (4194). We've already blogged some Russian reviews from VerSen, but this one is in English. So take a look at the mermaids, the gold bars, the bucket and more!

Read about this and other classic sets...
While some of us are currently anticipating the new Pirates of the Caribbean line, we must not forget about the sets that defined LEGO Pirates over 20 years ago! Classic-Pirates.com member SirSven7 has offered us a back to the roots of sorts by preparing a comprehensive review of all Pirate sets released between 1989 and 1991. This indeed is a very valuable source of information about those truly classic sets!

Which one do you like the most?
Although we all like the real Lego blunderbuss a lot, the Brick Forge musket is also very nice. Apache has made a good review of both weapons with all the pro's and con's. Do you prefer the brown classic Lego musket, or the more realistic designed Brick Forge one?
