Although not 100% a Pirates creation, this MOC was so well done that we just had to frontpage it. Forum user Ralph_S demonstrates his talent with the brick with an outstanding pleasure cruiser. One very interesting part of this MOC, other than the SNOT hull, is the clever use of round 1 x 1’s for furled sails. If only there were a few stripey shirts and some bandanas on the crew…
A remarkable vessel, but why is the anchor missing?
There we have the Missing Anchor! A small, highly detailed ship made by the good builder NewRight! The ship has a mystery on board concerning it’s anchor, as the name tells us, it is missing! With strange angles and new building techniques on such a small ship you really have to check it out!
Ahoy there mateys, sick of YouTube videos on the frontpage? Bad luck, because we got another one for ye! But this one is the official promotional video for the Pillage the Village II Contest.
The entries begin to roll into the Pillage the Village II Contest, and it’s time to do some Creative Critiquing! What do you like about each entry? What could be improved, and how? You could win a Pirates Advent Calendar for your efforts!
General Armendariz, the brickflick genius pressed into the Classic-Pirates.com crew, has treated us with another oscar-winning motion picture: Shipyard Shenanigans, Episode One: “Last words, either way.” It tells the humorous story of a man’s last words as his ship crumbles into the sea – but I won’t spoil the surprise; be sure to grab some popcorn, turn off the lights, and switch on the show!
You may notice many familiar faces starring in the flick, Captain Zuloo, Mister Phes, and Captain Blackmoor among them. Some viewers may wonder, “What is this Shipyard Shenanigans?” Well, we have the same question for you! Sail by the Classic-Pirates.com forum and tell Armendariz your thoughts and opinions.
Although not a huge pile of minifig animation, forum user curtisrlee shares with us a cheesy brickflick with some nice mouth animation. An amusing little piece, this is a great way to start out in our great community!
Ahoy there ye scallywaygs, it be a special time fer Classic-Pirates.com. Along with Pillage the Village II being announced, we have launched a whole new concept of ‘Behind The Helm’ interviews. We’re running a few episodes in audio format rather than text to see how things pan out. Joining me for the first of hopefully many audio interviews is again Tom “Bonaparte” Jacobs to discuss the new contest from Classic-Pirates.com. Check it out below:
But we need your input! Do you like this new format? Would you like to hear more of these audio interviews, or would you prefer to continue reading them? The more feedback we get, the better we can provide for your needs.
The pirates finally got tired of pillaging, plundering and looting, and decided to partake in more civilised hobbies, letting life return to normal for the poor afflicted soldiers, civilians, islanders and sea monsters: a period of peace and prosperity has arrived! From taking tea with the Governor to bombarding their sweethearts with barrages of roses, this next chapter of the Pillage the Village saga explores the unchartered waters of peaceful pirates, impotent imperials, carefree civilians, Do they polish the cannons, or polish off the rum? Race their rowing boats, or repair the harbor? Chill out under a palm tree, or cut it down to build a shack? Explore foreign territories, or the local brothels?
The Great Western LEGO® show is the largest LEGO show in the UK. It is held at the Museum of the Great Western Railway in Swindon on 3rd and 4th October 2009. It features a wide variety of displays from Pirates, Cars and Space through to Technic and Trains. There will also be building workshops where the public can get involved with the expert builders to help create a 100,000 brick mosaic. Visit the LEGO Shop and other independent LEGO traders for great deals on some exclusive LEGO sets not available on the high street.
We will have a Classic-Pirates.com Crew member at this event and hope to bring back some very cool coverage of the fun!
Yet again Derfel Cardarn treats us with an amazing port MOC, this time with more cobblestone than you could shake a yard stick at! Durnovaria is a modular part of the Dumnonian island project, an amazing project that is well worth following.
Classic-Pirates.com LEGO Ambassador Bonaparte brings us sad news this time. The pirates line will discontinue in the middle of 2010! Lucky enough it is a break, which means the Pirate theme will come back sometime in the future. But for how long do we have to wait? Some people think it will be a year, other people are afraid it takes another couple of years like the previous Pirates line. Since the new Pirate sets sell like hot cakes, and all the positive upcoming Pirate sets speculations it is unexpected news the line will take a break during 2010.
Share your thoughts about the fact the Pirates line discontinues here!
But don’t give up the ship! A petition has started to keep the Pirates theme running! Sign it here!
