A place for pilaging, err relaxing

Coconut Island, a place for pillaging, errr relaxing.

Pillage and plunder is the Pirates ways, but occasionally you might find an island that the Pirates have yet to land on.  Coconut Island is one of those places.  With hot food all the time, and a lagoon for the ladies, be sure to check evildeads flickr account for even more pics!

4 new MLCAD Ship WIPs by Eddy Redbeart

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

It's only a WIP, but already a very good-looking ship.

Except for the fact that you have (almost) all the bricks, working with MLCad and LDD is usually more difficult than building with real bricks. Therefore it’s always impressive to see some good ship MOC’s made with one of those programs. Eddy Redbeart has made 4 stunning ships with great colourschemes and a perfect shape. From a small pirate galleon to an Imperial flagship, he’s made some good stuff for everyone.

Imperial ship Adrianna by mvelic

Take a look at this magnificent vessel!

How better to introduce yourself on our forum than with a big imperial three-masted ship with an impressive broadside? Mvelic did just that. And the ship is very modular so you can take a look inside every tiny corner of it. This ship has everything, from a large captain’s cabin to a room full of weapons and ammunition. You can see crewmembers everywhere, busy with their day-to-day life, so you really have the feeling of going back in time.

Do the redcoats have the uper hand??

The Tournament of Retribution II has seen it’s ups and downs for both sides, but have the redcoats gotten the upper hand?  This pirate crew presumably working for the bluecoats look like they are doomed.

A sign of Pirates of the Caribbean theme?

A Jack Sparrow minifig from a possible Pirates of the Caribbean theme

A hoax or a new theme?

This picture was taken at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Surely this minifig looks like Jack Sparrow from Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean movie series. Does this mean we will see a new licensed theme soon?

With the LEGO® Group now working with Disney and having relaesed themes like Prince of Persia, this surely does sound plausible.

Who is the mysterious blue coat behind the knife?

It looks like curtains for the blue coats.  But wait, who is the man behind the knife, maybe not all is lost for our blue coat friends.  Or maybe it’s a trap.

Find out which in the Pirate Forum.

Adventures of the Blue Avenger by Oky Wan Kenobi

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

No one knows where he came from or if he is even real, but the Blue Avenger is here and all redcoats should live in terrible fear.  He’s just one man, but rumors run deep and you never know what one man is capable of until it’s too late.

See who the Blue Avenger is in the Pirate Forum.

ToRII: Redcoats are SO childish…by General Armendariz

Monday, July 19th, 2010

Childish tricks for sure. But a beard at this age!

Young Joey Lock and Commodore Hornbricker are doing some very childish tricks. Onfortunately for them, General Armendariz knows were they live…He takes his revenge in a very cruel way! Although Armendariz made this comic in a bit of a hurry, it will certainly give you a good laugh (that is, if you’re not a Redcoat yourself).

Will one of the redcoats be able to gain his freedom?

Sergeant Phes has captured a few famous Redcoats. This time, that doesn’t automatically mean they’re dead. Captain Bluehair is feeling generous and he gives them a second chance. They can enter the ‘Red Lympics’, and the one that survives gains freedom. What are the challenges and who will be the winner?

ToRII: Helen of Toy by ZCerberus

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

Do they come out of the classic horse... ...or something different?

Do you know the story about the battle of Troy? Well, this is kind of the same story but it sets place in the age of piracy and it’s not about Helen of Troy but about Helen of Toy. With her face she could launch a thousand ships! She’s been kidnapped and the redcoats want her back. It’s much more hilarious than the original story and has a great ending.  And where would our ZCerberus be without his bananas?

LEGO Quarterly Community Survey – July 2010

Friday, July 16th, 2010

Time to pass your thoughts on to the LEGO Group!

The latest community survey was in April 2010. Now we want to ask you again to fill in a new survey (with some old questions, but also some new ones) to know even more about global AFOL (defined as ages 20+) and TFOL (defined as ages 13-19) communities. Adult or Teenage Fans of LEGO bring an important perspective to the LEGO Group. So this information is of great interest to the LEGO Group.

Please take a moment to complete this short online survey. Afterwards you can see the key findings of the last survey and tell us how the current one went in the LEGO Pirates forum.

Thank you on behalf of The LEGO Community Team!

Pirate Town - Built from Pirate wreckage.

Where do Pirate ships go when they have sailed their last voyage?  To this pirate town built completely from sunken pirate ship wreckage.  The details are worth taking a closer look, as this is a very well constructed MOC.

Be sure to comment on “Pirate Town” in the Pirate Forum.
