Brick Forge Musket Review by Apache

Musket review weapon rifle pistol brickforge customized flintlock colour plastic soldier

Which one do you like the most?

Although we all like the real Lego blunderbuss a lot, the Brick Forge musket is also very nice. Apache has made a good review of both weapons with all the pro’s and con’s. Do you prefer the brown classic Lego musket, or the more realistic designed Brick Forge one?

Will LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean bring back Spanish minifigs? (MOVIE SPOILERS!)

Monday, September 27th, 2010
A screenshot from the upcoming POTC Armada of the Damned game, with Spanish characters

Possible future minifigs?

As you may recall, we the members of Classic-Pirates.com have a reason to believe that LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean line will be released some time in the future. It’s also been stated that the POTC: On Stranger Tides movie (which is to be released next year) will include some Spanish characters, ships and locations.

Also, the upcoming POTC: Armada of the Damned video game will include characters resembling Spanish minifigs from the classic LEGO Imperial Armada subtheme (see the above screenshot).

Does this mean that we are going to get new Imperial Armada-like minifigs and sets, for the first time since 1997 (not counting the 2001 re-release)?

Dinner With the Islanders by Azaghal Gabilzaramul

Would he taste good with some bananas?

Azaghal isn’t a member of Eurobricks, but he’s a good MOCmaker. EB-member Mister Phes found this funny MOC on MOCpages. The description is “Captain Gerald tragically misinterprets the Islanders desire to, “have him for dinner“. The banana and the evil smile of the islanders explain a lot.

Tutorial: custom Accordeon/Concertina, by Brig. Brick

Friday, September 10th, 2010

One of our more devoted members, Brig. Brick, brings us a very easy tutorial on how to make an accordeon/concertina in only a few minutes time.

All you need are two flat tiles and some deskapparel like paper, scissors and glue!

Click here to discuss the tutorial about how to make a LEGO accordeon or concertina!

Ready in 10 minutes or less!

Wikipedia: A concertina is a free-reed musical instrument, like the variousaccordions and the harmonica. It has a bellows and buttons typically on both ends of it. When pressed, the buttons travel in the same direction as the bellows, unlike accordion buttons which travel perpendicularly to it. Also, each button produces one note, while accordions typically can produce chords with a single button.

The concertina was developed in England and Germany, most likely independently. The English version was invented in 1829 by Sir Charles Wheatstone and a patent for an improved version was filed by him in 1844. The German version was announced in 1834 by Carl Friedrich Uhlig.
