Sure those pirates are in their element!

Pirates are raiding a village with only a very small defence army. Villagers are trying to escape from either pirates or sharks, the cannon is roaring, a house is set on fire and people are fighting everywhere!

Postponement of the Seven Seas Contest

Saturday, January 29th, 2011

Due to the sad passing of our friend Admiral Zorro we have decided not to proceed with the Seven Seas Contest at this time.

This is a very painful decision given the hundreds of hours that went into the Talking Skull Promotion, but Zorro was instrumental to the operations of the main contest and we must make revisions to proceed without him.

The prizes for the Talking Skull Promotion will be shipped to the winners as planned.

Discuss this further in the LEGO Pirates Forum.

Our Zorro (Dieter) passing away

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

At the age of 27, or staff member Zorro sadly passed away

At the age of 27, our staff member Zorro (Dieter) sadly passed away.

It’s hard to sum up all the good things Dieter did for our community. He was one of the pillars behind Classic-Pirates.com and Eurobricks.com, someone who was always friendly and willing to help others. Dieter was not just a talker, but also working very hard behind the scenes with some examples being his fund raising allowing us to do a number of awesome Pirate contests. He was also the one buying most of the prizes and taking care of shipments for every pirate contest we did these last few years.

His unexpected death was a huge shock to all of us. We’ll miss our Lord Admiral!

Feel free to write a few words for Zorro in our forum.

Lighthouse by maydayartist

Out the stormy sea.

Better late then never! This outstanding lighthouse settled on a cliff over the shore was originally build for the 2010 Community Build, but never published until now. It’s a great mood that comes to mind when you watch the fine vessel alongside the cliff, swaying in the waves. But there is more to discover like the working lighthouse fire and the scenic beauty.

So come along and visit Lighthouse by maydayartist in the Forum.

Guess who is in town tonight ? by 74louloute

Watch out! The pirates are in town!

And another poor little village gets pillaged by a bunch of vicious pirates!  It sounds cruel but this MOC is really worth to take a look at.  It contains some very nice features, like stained glass windows, an interesting floor technique, and a good-looking tower. Another special feature is that it has only flesh coloured minifigs, while most MOC’s still have yellow ones.

Behold a giant of the sea, The Mobula

If size is any indication of power then The Mobula should be feared.  With an impressive brick built hull and design cues worth a second look, the Mobula is equally impressive as it is large.  Welcome our new member BadLeo by visiting his thread in the Pirate Forum.

DARE you match wits with the Talking Skull?

Friday, January 14th, 2011

If you’re up for winning prizes check out:

www.Classic-Pirates.com/Mystery

Many years ago Captain Cannonblast Sailed the Seven Seas in search of treasure.

He hid his booty in a long forgotten cave protected by an enchanted guardian. Only those who knew the magic words could enter and marvel at the valuables within.

Before he died, the captain drew a map and split it into three pieces, each piece containing a cryptic clue. One of these maps is here but the rest remain scattered throughout the cyber seas.

The first brave adventurer to find all the maps and decipher the magic words will receive a 6242 Soldiers Fort and behold the treasures within.

There are also 17 more LEGO prizes to be won along the way – EIGHT have been won already so don’t delay.

The tides are also changing and the treasure cave may be completely flooded after February 1st.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and the RSS Feed or Mailing List for more clues!

Heads up for those who want an advantage

Over the weekend Mailing List recipients will receive an Email with useful information about the Skull and maybe even another Teaser Image.

Click here to see Terra Volcanis by I Screan Clone in the Forum!

Run for your lives!

In his latest Moc, I Scream Clone shows us the power of nature. The beautiful island, inhabited by many islanders is doomed to die! Why? Because of the huge volcanic eruption …  The cottages alongside the many other details, like birds, palm trees and animals, are beautifully designed. In addition, it is rather rare to see so many islanders in one bunch.

So, you see, it’s absolutely worthwhile to stop by the Forum and visit Terra Volcanis by I Scream Clone.
