Queen Anne's Revenge by -DoNe-

A high cabin combined with a slim design.

And another Queen Anne’s Revenge is ready to sail the waves! The official Pirates of the Caribbean line may be over, but Blackbeard’s fleet is getting stronger every day. This is a very fine example made by Eurobricks member -DoNe-. The decks are great in dark tan, the cabin is modular and it has a working anchor.

A Tiny Big Scene

The first thing to catch my eye was the use of microfigures which drew me in deeper, and that’s when I noticed all the great stuff here. A whole port built on a 16×32 baseplate (plus a little overhang) and the ocean side the same size with a great little ship. The dock itself is my favorite part and it looks perfect for the microfigure world, but there are lots of little details to see like the buildings and the ship.

Crossing The Alps

Napoleon's troops crossing the Alps.

Small pirate vignettes are always effective ways of telling a short story or tale through LEGO bricks, and michaelozzie manages to effectively tell one through his amazing scene of Napoleon’s troops crossing through the Alps. The lighting and composition used in this shot is stunning and is intended to be reminiscent of Keith Rocco’s famous paintings of Napoleon’s campaign.

LEGO Pirate Golden Hinde MOC Rufus and Pandora

Set sail for Brickworld!

Proving that two heads are better than one, Eurobrick members Rufus and Pandora have collaborated to build a replica of Sir Francis Drake’s ship, The Golden Hinde.  Highlights include the color choices, the excellent shaping using both pre-fabricated hulls and bricks, the custom made sails, the functional custom rigging, the brick-built sea life, the tiled deck and the dramatic stern with many excellent details.  If you want to see this beauty in person, Rufus and Pandora say it will be making an appearance at Brickworld Chicago in less than a month!

Mini Queen Anne's Revenge

A mini Queen Anne's Revenge

At first glance one might think that this vessel is a full size Lego pirate ship, complete with a crew and rowboat. Upon closer inspection one will find that this is actually a miniaturized version of Captain Blackbeard’s beloved ship seen in the film Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The custom sails and rigging, intricately placed details, and stylish yet simple base make this mini ship something everyone would love to display on a shelf, even Blackbeard himself. Bidea certainly has an eye for building miniature ships.

Grim Reaper by Morthen P

As black as the Black Pearl and just as scary!

Fear is always a very important element when it comes to sea battles. Another one is a strong broadside. This ship has both features. The Grim Reaper by MOCpages member Morthen P is both fearsome and well-armed. Gunport hatches and stern details are interesting as well!

No witnesses

One of our news scouts SirSven7 found this great MOC on flickr. Created by Owen_S this simple but very clean MOC shows what can happen when you go head to head with a Pirate and there is no one else around.

They may be small, but we've got em in numbers

Our own News Scout Sebeus Iniwum has made some small, yet agile rafts. With limited firepower, numbers are their greatest ally. With numerous rafts they can easily overtake a large vessel. Whether crewed by Pirates or the occasional zombie, these will get the job done.

Eastern Pirate Junk

An Eastern Pirate Junk

Eastern pirates aren’t something as commonly seen here on Classic-Pirates.com, so it is very refreshing to see a Pirate junk ship built by user Bjornu. In making this vessel he also introduces a new faction of eastern pirates. The unique red sails, eastern pirate crew, and lavish details on this vessel help make it stand out as a unique pirate creation.

Ready! Aim! Flick the orange switch!

The London Carriage Chase

I hear a rumor... Jack Sparrow is in London

Conveying such an action-packed scene as the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides London Carriage Chase in still images with LEGO might seem impossible. However, swash buckler found a way to do it marvelously. The whole scene has been set up and created with such attention to detail that I can almost hear the sounds and the music from the film. He also took the time to move Jack around for photos so we could see his progress through the scene.

Lego Motorized Ghost Ship

A motorized Lego ghost ship.

What happens when Lego Technic and Pirates clash? It seems we’ve just found out. Combining the power of Technic and Pirates, Sariel has built a motorized pirate ship that actually moves around. This lavishly spooky vessel also features some lovely details such as the crew getting into ghoulish mishaps and dark accents that personify this vessel as a ghost ship. It is certainly a vessel that many a sea fairing men would surely fear.

LEGO Pirate Recoiling Cannon MOC Sebeus Iniwum

Technic elements have a new home!

We have been blessed with many beautiful ship models over the years on Classic-Pirates.com, and now our forum is starting to see some awesome “functional” designs from our members.  Sebeus Iniwum strikes again with these recoiling cannons using technic springs and beams to create the realistic looking action.  Head to the forum to check out a video (complete with sound!) of the firing action!

LEGO Pirate CUUSOO Flying Dutchman Sebeus Iniwum

Can WE taste the triple guns?

LEGO has released a version of the Black Pearl and the Queen Anne’s Revenge but no Flying Dutchman.  With LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean™ seemingly on its way out, it appears we may never get a Flying Dutchman and there is nothing we can do about that.  Or is there?  Not long ago Eurobricks’ member Sebeus Iniwum showed off his version of the Flying Dutchman and now his project is on CUUSOO.  If you have not heard about CUUSOO, it is a site where LEGO fans can post their ideas.  If an idea gets 10,000 supporters it will be reviewed by LEGO for a chance to become an official LEGO product!  If you want a Flying Dutchman, support his project on CUUSOO.

Go vote on CUUSOO and be sure to discuss the Flying Dutchman or the status of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean in the forum now.
