Austrian Grenadier charge at Aspern

Tuesday, August 6th, 2019

Eurobricks member Woody64 has shared his 1790 - 1815 Vignettes in the Pirate Forum.

This particular one caught my eye as I love when paintings of history are recreated in Lego!  This scene from the battle of Aspern-Essling was recreated with the help of some custom headgear.

In May of 1809 Napoleon attempted to cross the Danube near Vienna but was driven back by the Austrians under Archduke Charles's command.  This battle was significant as Napoleon had not been defeated in over a decade.  Unfortunately for the Archduke Napoleon was able to withdraw the majority of forces so it was never declared a decicive victory.

So enough of the history lesson go check out the rest of his vignettes post haste!

Star Wars Figbar

Star Wars Figbarf

Flickr user Adam Dodge has posted this creative picture of pirate figures meant to represent characters from the Star Wars universe. It's a great idea and well executed, as any Star Wars fan should be able to identify who the figures represent. He has incorporated pieces from classic pirates all the way to pieces from Pirates of the Caribbean and even other themes. If you check out his photostream he also has some other great creations.

We get the newly designed Pirate Captain complete with a pearl gold saber and hook, in addition to a highly detailed Conquistador with a pearl gold helmet and printed armor as well as printed legs.

Three Musketeers En Garde by ACPin

3 vs. Many

Not all Pirates wear rags and sail on ships.  Some come in a more sophisticated form.  Musketeers are just those men.  Men of class but also of skill, they enjoy fine wine, and can drop your pants with a swing of their blade.  I actually feel sorry for the incoming group of Cardinal Guards.
