Black Rock Tribe

MOCpages member brick to form built this wonderful Islander display.  The island has lots of play features built in,  and a beautiful brick built waterfall.  The pirate ship is very nice, and has secret compartments to hide their booty!  All in all this is an excellent MOC, sure to please any LEGO Pirates fan.

Relaxing on a rolling lagoon.

Legopard created this wonderful vignette to show off his new moldable water technique, but the whole scene is worth a closer look. Many amazing details in such a small space will make you wonder why you never thought to use parts in these ways.

Maya, Inca, Aztec Diorama

Eurobricks member Subix created this awesome Mesoamerican diorama for his local LUG. The main temple modeled after Temple I in Tikal, and smaller buildings in other architectural styles of the ancients.  Subix has managed to pack many details in this MOC, including custom made stickers, and lights in the temples.  If your a fan of Mesoamerican history like I am, this is one MOC you will not want to miss!

An island paradise? Not likely.

Eurobricks member sweetsha built this amusing island scene to show off his CMF Tiki Warriors, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy it! Of particular note are the snake statue and the adorably carnivorous man-eating plants. These bumbling pirates are definitely in over their heads!

An island paradise (save for the exploding mountain)

Eurobricks member absolutelylez has put together a very classic-looking Islanders scene with this diorama. Taking centre stage is the stunning volcano, erupting just as the natives prepare to feast on a hapless pirate. Hopefully they don't get ash in their pirate stew!

Relaxing at Home: Pirate Style

This stunning island scene by I Scream Clone has a wonderful lagoon with some pirates enjoying the sun as well as islanders in the foliage gathering food. One of the best parts of the build is the the viewing platform on the tree and the ramshackle little hut. The forum has many close up photos of all the great details of this huge build.

Pirates vs. Islanders by SlyOwl

Need inspiration for TOR III round 1?

Perhaps you've heard of a builder named SlyOwl, if not, you REALLY need to hit the web more.  SlyOwl is one of the most prolific builders ever and here we take a look at an older MOC showing islanders facing off with piratey foes!  There are some great details like the bloody sand, the beach that slopes upwards, the pirate being charred black by the angry islander priest and the wizard hat used as water poured from a barrel!  As it so happens, this MOC also contains the subject matter of the first round of the Tournament of Retribution III, islanders!  Do not forget to sign up for TORIII while you take a gander at SlyOwl's work.

Dust off your old MOCs, sign up for TORIII and discuss Pirates vs. Islanders in the forum.
